Lovey wants the impossible - what's the affect on her sense of self?

Lovey has a very poor view of herself and so she wants a fictional life. She has the need for some kind of attention that maybe she didn't get from her parents growing up. She's basically idolizing those that younger than her which is most likely because of a loss of a childhood. It seems like when Lovey was a little kid she was never complimented and probably disciplined harshly and was made grow up quickly and all she really wants is to have that childhood back. Another thing that seems to be a desire of Lovey is that she wants to be fully American to be a blond white girl. Of coarse this is something that can never be attained. It shows that she is ashamed of her cultural background.
